It's time to present the awards and the results for the inaugral season of the Tabletop Republic Warhammer 40k 2000pt league! This blog will go through the missions, the results, and the statistics from this season, which ran from January to April 2023.
THE LEAGUE
The Tabletop Republic 40k league is a 2000pt league comprised of 6 games played over 3 months. This first season had a strong attendance, with a total of 19 players
In this version of the league (compared to our 1k version), players must stick with the same faction and subfaction, but can change lists every round.
TABLE
The final table above shows the full standings for each player - with their placings based on the following criteria
1. Total wins (1pts for a win, 0.5pts for a draw and 0pt for a loss)
2. Total points scored
3. Least points conceded
Here is the extended table showing each player's win-loss pattern and opponents.
Jonathan dominated the field with his Heavy-weapon-heavy Deathwatch list, using Agents of the Imperium to break the super doctrine to keep the army in Devastator Doctrine all rounds for ridiculous AP output.
Sam came second after only losing to Jon - his Black Legion list providing plenty of firepower and a tough melee punch. Abaddon and Terminators are a good combo!
Scott Errington-Bazley was the best of the 4-wins wih his beautifully painted Ulthwe. His army was strong in all areas; with psychic and shooting being the main focus, and Ulthwe giving a mortal wound protection and the invulnerable stopping the highest of APs.
THE ROUNDS
We used custom mission layouts for this season as mix up the usual UKTC missions but trying to keep them as even as possible
R1: Abandoned Sanctuaries
R2: Secure Missing Artefacts
R3: Tide of Conviction
'
R4: Conversion
R5: Data-scry Salvage
R6: Tear Down Their Icons
SECONDARIES
Here are each of the secondaries chosen during the league, how many times they were chosen and the average score for each;
Behind Enemy Lines was the most chosen secondary, with No Prisoners close behind, and Raise the Banners High in 3rd place
Warp Ritual was the best scoring Arks of Omen secondary, with an average score of 11pts - just ahead of No Prisoners with an avg of 10.5 and Behind Enemy Lines with 10.19
Engage on All Fronts was the only Arks secondary that scored worse than 7 on average, scoring 6.56. Bring It Down just managed to avoid this fate, with an average of 7.5.
The best scoring faction-specific secondaries (chosen 3+ times) were Broodswarm [GSC] (14.75), Reality Rebels [Daemons] (13.06) and Despoil Dominions [BL] (13)
The only underperforming faction-specific secondaries (chosen 3+ times) was We March For Macragge [UM] (4), with all others scoring 8+pts
I have also compiled each player's individual secondary objective selection and respective secondary average:
Despite winning the league, Jonathan Partridge (Deathwatch) did not have the best secondary scores on average, with that acclaim going to Sam Smith (2nd, Black Legion) (well, technically Tom Roberts' Sororitas scored 11.83 on average but only played 2 games)
