- RULES: The Double Standards 2023 tournament will be using the Blood Bowl Second Season Edition (or Blood Bowl 2020 as it is commonly known) rules, along with the “Teams of Legend” PDF and the designers' Errata which can be found over on the official Blood Bowl website, as well as the inclusion of the Slann team, which may be found under the NAF's “Rules For Tournaments 2021” document. "Daemons of Khorne" will no longer be a permitted roster due to being superseded by the official GW Khorne team.
- Team Building: Coaches are given a starting gold pieces allowance of 1,150,000 for the purposes of selecting players, re rolls, sideline staff and purchasing any inducements permitted. This is completely separate from the inclusion of additional skills, which will be covered below.
- In any doubles pairing, the two coaches may not select the same team/race.
- Inducements: Star Players are permitted in the following two categories:
- STUNTY TEAMS (Goblins, Ogres, Snotlings and Halflings): May take a maximum of one star player from all GW published star players from Blood Bowl Second Season Edition onward, after a regular 11 players have been rostered.
- ALL OTHER TEAMS: May take a maximum of one star player from all GW published star players from Blood Bowl Second Season Edition onwards, after a regular 11 players have been rostered, except the following players which are prohibited for non-stunty teams: Morg N' Thorg, Deeproot Strongbranch, Hakflem Skuttlespike, Griff Oberwald
- Mercenaries are not permitted.
- The only inducements permitted are Bloodweiser Kegs, Halfling Master Chefs, and Bribes, which are paid for out of the 1,150,000 gold pieces referenced above prior to the tournament. No inducements are able to be purchased at the table, so spend that gold!
- Additional Skills: Once you have fully purchased your team as described above, you may distribute additional skills amongst your players. A coach may select ONE of the following two skill packages:
- 8 Primary Skills OR
- 5 Primary Skills and 2 Secondary Skills
- A maximum of two skills may be stacked onto the same player (including both Secondary skills if you wish). Aside from this, there are no other limitations such as limits on duplicate skills etc. *FAQ* Yes this means more than one player may have two skills, just no more than two skills per player. A coach that wishes to take the latter skill package listed above may substitute one of the Secondary skills with a Primary skill should they wish, but they will gain no further skills as a result (i.e. they will still have seven skills total to allocate). Statistic increases are not an option, otherwise... they'd be listed above...
- All teams must be painted with at least 3 colours and be comprised of appropriate fantasy miniatures which reflect the positionals they are intended to represent.
- The Prayers to Nuffle Table: Any reference to rolling on the “Prayers to Nuffle” Table must utilise the Exhibition variant of the table found on page 103 of the Blood Bowl rulebook.
- What You Need:
- A painted team (minimum 3 colours)
- Board and dugout
- Dice
- Templates
- ONE printed roster
- Scoring: 2 Points for a win, 1 Point for a draw, 0 Points for a loss
- Tie breaking system will take into account net touchdowns followed by net casualties.
- Doubles Format - Doubles Blood Bowl is simply played by two players on the same "team" playing two other players on an opposing "team" in two individual and separate games of Blood Bowl. (You are not sat side by side conferring over the same game of Blood Bowl!)
- The cumulative score a team picks up each round will determine the place in the table. I.e, with the scoring format being 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss, if one player on the team wins and their partner draws, they gain 3 points as a team.
- Round Pairings - First round will be randomly drawn as per normal swiss style rules, with the pairings between teams also randomly drawn. Thereafter, teams will be matched by score, and the pairings within both teams also matched by score, so the highest scoring player on one pair will play the highest scoring player on the opposing pair, and so on.
- Prizes There will be prizes/trophies awarded for the following:
- Tournament Winners
- Runners Up
- Most Touchdowns (Individual Coach)
- Most Casualties* (Individual Coach)
- Stunty Cup (Best placed Ogres, Snotlings Halflings or Goblins, Individual Coach)
- Best Painted Award** (Individual Coach)
- *Any injury that goes into your opponents injury box (even if it's just passing through) counts towards the Most Casualties award. (And also for the tie breaker.) FAQ - Yes that includes if your opponent fails a dodge or rush and kills themselves. ANY injury counts for your CAS.
- **Display bases do not increase your chances of winning best painted, only the figures themselves will be judged
- NAF SHIELD - Important to know, a NAF tournament winners' shield will be awarded to the highest placed individual coach, even if they are not part of the tournament winning pair.
